ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WJLA) -- An Alexandria condominium burned Friday night, but the young family inside managed to escape safely.

A man living in the condo in the 3200 block of Gunston Road smelled smoke, checked the attic, and saw fire. He then grabbed his wife and baby and got out of the condo.

Several adjacent condos were also evacuated and nearby streets closed as Alexandria and Arlington firefighters battled the blaze in the Park Fairfax neighborhood.
