D.C. police are searching for two suspects responsible for two robberies and a asexual assault in NE D.C.
Police say that at about 4 a.m. Wednesday, two men armed with a handgun and a knife broke into a home in the 2400 block of 2nd Street and one of the men sexually abused a woman at home at the time.
"The burglars - they attacked her husband she tried to escape she rang the bell and from our house she called the police.," says neighbor Asja Todoric.
The husband of the woman tried to intervene and the suspect fired a shot at him but missed, according to the Washington Post.
Also on early Wednesday, two men broke into a home in the 2600 block of North Capitol Street but they fled after the home owner yelled at them.
The owner of that home, Keith Talley, says his dog woke him up. Two men had broken in through a window.
"I saw that somebody was coming up the stairs slowly - you know what I mean - they had knives in their hand," he says. "I lunged at them and there are two guys and they went out the back door."
Police believe the same men may be responsible for both of this morning's home invasions.
Ahmed Tabet thinks the same pair broke into his house last week.
"At gunpoint, they wake me up from my bed," Tabet says. "They told us to put under the bed go under the bed and then they just left."
