SILVER SPRING, Md. (WJLA/AP) -- A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a four-car collision along Route 29 Wednesday that left her trapped in her overturned vehicle.
The crash happened along the northbound lanes of the Columbia Pike near Fairfield Road about 1:15 p.m., but the roadway remained closed hours later into the start of the evening commute.
Montgomery County Police said the driver of a Jeep made a lane change and hit an Audi, causing the Audi to hit a Lincoln Navigator, overturn and hit a Saturn Scion.
The driver of the Audi, identified as 22-year-old Marcelina Maria Cordoba of Silver Spring, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Lincoln Navigator was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
