GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJLA) - While normally busy with patients and practitioners, the Medical Arts Centre is now a crime scene. It is busy with detective and police cadets searching for clues, and those with appointments are turned away.
"I was coming here looking for a dentist," said Earl Warrren.
Dr. Mahesh Ochany is also among those being kept outside the yellow police tape:
"I'm just totally shocked to hear something like this happened in the building. I've been here for nearly 10 years."
Dr. Ochany was just a block away this morning doing rounds at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, when he got the word that an employee at one of the other healthcare offices in this two-story building arrived this morning, opened the office door, and found the body of an adult woman inside.
Her injuries were obvious, and police arrived before 9 a.m. Officers closed down the building and swept it all the way to the roof in order to confirm that the killer was no longer inside.
Now, homicide detectives have joined tenants here in the hunt for answers.
"I just feel really sorry for the person that's been hurt, and just cant imagine that something like this would happen here," said Dr. Ochany.
The Medical Arts Centre of Glen Burnie is located at 325 Hospital Dr.
UPDATE: On Monday evening, it was confirmed that the victim has been identified by Anne Arundel County Police as 43-year-old Christie Lynn Pelland of Pasadena, Maryland, who worked as a cleaner for the building.
