(WJLA) - At the Polish Embassy in Northwest Washington, there is portrait after portrait. Maybe one day soon, there will be another – of Marcin Gortat.
Gortat had a career night against the Pacers in Game Six. He is beloved back home in Poland, and has visited the Embassy and joined the ambassador when the two hosted "Polish Heritage Night" at a Wizards game earlier this season.
“(Gortat) seems to have great balance and people are extremely proud that he’s proud of his heritage," said Artur Orkisz, who handles congressional affairs at the Polish Embassy.
Deputy Ambassador Maciej Pisarski added: “(Gortat) is not only a great player, but he’s very active off the court…He sets a great example.”
