(WJLA) - A West Virginia man was cited Sunday at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after TSA agents found a pair of unloaded guns in his carry-on bag.

The Martinsburg, W.Va. man was going through a security checkpoint at Reagan when a TSA officer saw two .44 Colt revolvers in his bag as it went through an x-ray machine.

An MWAA officer confiscated the guns and issued the man a weapons charge.

Guns are never permitted in carry-on luggage per FAA regulations; they are permitted to be carried in checked bags as long as they're unloaded, packed properly and are declared.
