Weather: Have the umbrella handy because we're in for some rain! (ABC7)

We're in for one more warm day before temperatures tumble for the weekend. Highs today will top out in the low 80s. Have the umbrella on hand, again today, with thunderstorms likely between 2 to 6 p.m. Gusty winds and small hail are possible in the storms that develop, so have your StormWatch7 app handy while you're on-the-go. Once the thunderstorms end, we're in for a dry evening with mild temperatures in the 70s.

The cooler air spills in for the weekend. Highs tomorrow will top out in the low 60s. We'll only reach the upper 50s on Sunday. StormWatch7 is tracking an area of low pressure that will bring us the soggy weather. The best chance for widespread, steady rain is after 6 p.m. Saturday lasting through early Sunday morning. The area of low pressure is tracking farther south, which means the bulk of the wet weather Sunday will stay south of the area. In fact, some spots in western and central Maryland could see some sunshine Sunday afternoon. Keep in mind, if the track shifts farther north, we'll be in for more clouds and rain through the day. It's also looking like the wet weather will now linger into Monday. At this point, we'll pick up between 1-1.5" of rain from this system.

Next week is trending much warmer with highs into the low 80s by the end of next week.
