Water main break shuts down portion of Linden Lane in downtown Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. (WJLA) – A water main break closed a portion of Linden Lane between Brookeville Road and Monroe Street in downtown Silver Spring late Sunday and early Monday morning.

Crews with Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) began working to repair the 10-inch water main break around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. During the repair, crews struck a gas line, prompting Washington Gas to come to the scene around midnight.

The water main break was repaired Monday morning and water was turned back on for all affected customers in the area around 11 a.m.

Washington Gas did not indicate when the gas line repairs would be completed.
