(WJLA) - A new report released by the American Lung Association has named the Washington, D.C. region as one of the most polluted cities in the country.
The 2014 State of the Air report ranks the D.C. area eighth out of 277 metropolitan areas for high ozone days, putting the area two above cities such as Dallas, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada (who rounded out the top 10 on the list).
This is the second year D.C. was ranked in the top 10 of the State of the Air list. In 2013, it was ranked ninth, and in 2012, D.C. was ranked 13th, according to WTOP.
Additionally, D.C. was ranked 37th for 24-hour particle pollution and 40th for annual particle pollution.
