Virginia: Police report 109 car accidents early Monday due to storm

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police say troopers have responded to more than 100 wrecks since a winter storm hit the state late Sunday evening.

State police spokesman Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar says 109 accidents occurred from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday.

Most of the wrecks involved property damage.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is reporting minor to moderate conditions on primary roads across the state Monday morning.

Winter storm warnings remain in effect for around 20 counties Monday morning.
