VIDEO: Person attacked and beaten with a bat near the Shaw Metro stop in DC, police say

A person was beaten with a baseball bat while being attacked by a group of people Friday near the Shaw-Howard Metro stop in D.C., according to authorities.

D.C. Police say the assault happened at around 8:29 a.m. in the 1700 block of 7th Street, NW on Friday. Officials say the group of what appears to be four people attacked the victim, beating him and kicking him while he was lying on the ground.

The suspects then left but the attack was caught on camera and can be seen below.

Police say they were able to get a look at three of the persons of interest in the case and are asking anyone with any information on the incident to call them at 202-727-9099.

DC Crime Solvers is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible.
