VIDEO: Kuron Hunt murder: Person of interest ID'd

Police have released surveillance video of a person of interest in the March 22 stabbing death of an infant in SE D.C. in March.

In the video, a large man, wearing what appears to be a hooded jacket and gloves, can be seen walking along the apartment complex in the 4200 block of 9th Street.{ }

Moments later, the victim, who was eight months pregnant, was stabbed. Police say she was conscious when she was taken to a hospital. Doctors delivered the baby, identified as Kuron Rashad Hunt, but he was later pronounced dead, police say.

Authorities are still searching for the assailant.

Neighbors in the Southeast apartment complex where the victim was stabbed tell ABC7 news they awoke to screams around 2:30 Thursday morning. When they opened their doors, they say a pregnant woman was yelling call 911, crying she had just been stabbed in the stomach.

Police sources say the woman told detectives she was sleeping on her sofa when she woke up to a man standing above her. The suspect stabbed her and left the apartment. Sources added the woman said she did not know the man.

Hattie Jackson is baby Kuron's grandmother.

"We went and visited his grave site about a week ago. Emotions came up again. We want closure," Jackson said. "Actually having the baby and not being able to bring the baby home, that's very mentally damaging."

Police are seeking the identity of the man in the surveillance video.

Jackson added, "Think about if it was you. Wouldn't you want someone to speak? Just call."

In the funeral program, Kuron's mother and father wrote a letter to their baby boy, which said, in part," We fell deeply in love with you...words cannot express the way we felt when we had to let you go."

There's a $25,000 reward in this case. If you have any information, call D.C. Police.
