WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) - A recently-opened restaurant in Virginia is generating controversy after posting a sign on its front door that says "no guns permitted."
Radio station WTOP-FM reports the restaurant banning guns is Toby Keith's I Love this Bar & Grill in Woodbridge. Keith, the country music star, does not own the restaurant chain, which has more than a dozen locations nationwide.
A Facebook page for the restaurant's Woodbridge location contains some comments supporting the policy and others that are critical. The restaurant, which serves traditional southern American food, posted a statement on the page Saturday saying it understands and respects "every person's right to own and bear arms."
"It is our desire to provide a safe, enjoyable and entertaining experience for our patrons and staff," the statement continued.
