Man indicted for tweeting death threats to CIA, State Dept., Va. officers


A Herndon man has been indicted on charges of threatening to murder officials of the Central Intelligence Agency, the U.S. State Department, and Virginia law enforcement officers.

According to the indictment, William Lewis Weaver II, 36, used a Twitter account to tweet threats to government officials, including with bombs and a shotgun.

The threats were posted between between August 23 and September 16, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
