Police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a man in Fredericksburg early Saturday morning, the first murder in the city this year.
Nathaniel Dywayne Henderson, 28, was discovered in his home with a gunshot wound to the head.
Fredericksburg Police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe says that a friend of Henderson's went over to the victim's house. He didn't get an answer when he knocked, so he went inside and found Henderson suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, bleeding, and apparently deceased inside the home.
The friend called 911 and officers responded to the 300 block of Brock Square in the Central Park Townhomes around 3:30 a.m. They confirmed that Henderson was dead.
Later on Saturday, police arrested Tyrone Johnson and accused him of the murder.
Bledsoe describes the area as a densely populated townhome community.
