WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WJLA) - A Woodbridge boy died Sunday after a long battle with a rare childhood cancer, InsideNoVa.com reports.
Trevor Blake, 11, was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma six years ago and has since touched many hearts with his positive attitude and drive to help others.
Trevor started "Trevor's Treasures," a non-profit that collects and distributes toys to other hospitalized children.
InsideNoVa.com reports that Trevor's parents had stopped all treatments earlier this summer and spent the recent months taking him to baseball games and the beach.
On his CaringBridge.org journal, Trevor's mother writes that he died with his family by his side.
"My strong brave boy has received his wings... he has moved on to fulfill his mission of watching over all of us and all the other children faced with battling this awful disease. He has won," she wrote.
