Teen's hand gets stuck in Metro escalator
A portion of a Metro escalator had to be taken apart after a teen got his hand caught.
The 14-year-old boy was on the escalator at the Smithsonian Metro station when his flip flop got stuck in the teeth of the steps near the bottom of the escalator. When he reached to retrieve the shoe, four of his fingers got caught.
According to the Washington, D.C. Fire Fighters Association, it took crews around 30 minutes to free the teen.
He was taken to an area hospital in stable condition and expected to be okay.
