Travis Jackson killed on Suitland Parkway
WASHINGTON (WJLA) - An accident on the Suitland Parkway late Wednesday night in Southeast D.C. killed a construction worker and sent another person to the hospital.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. near Stanton Road.
Police say the driver of a BMW SUV lost control and struck a parked utility vehicle, killing Travis Jackson, 34.
The driver of the BMW was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash closed traffic in both directions on the Suitland Parkway for roughly six hours. The Parkway's inbound lanes reopened just before 6 a.m., but the outbound lanes remain closed.
The crash is being investigated.
