(WJLA) - A Fairfax woman has been convicted of conspiring to traffic a 15-year-old girl for sex in the D.C. area.
Stephanie Chapman was found guilty Thursday of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a child in connection with plans her and her boyfriend made to pimp out a teenage girl they meet for sex.
According to prosecutors, both Chapman and her boyfriend, Ronnie Holmes, met the 15-year-old girl in either February or March of 2013 and recruited her to be a prostitute for them. They then posted graphic photos of the teen to backpage.com, the notorious site that caters in part to call girls and johns, and sent them to potential customers.
The two then drove her to meet with men in various locations, including Virginia, Maryland and the District, for sex. They then took half the money she was paid.
Holmes previously pleaded guilty to his role in the scheme. Chapman faces 10 years in prison when she's sentenced on Jan. 24.
