(WJLA) - The first female sheriff in the 271-year history of Fairfax County will officially take office next Tuesday.
Stacey Kincaid will be sworn in as the county's 77th sheriff on Nov. 26 after defeating Bryan Wolfe in their Nov. 5 election. She has worked for the sheriff's office in various capacities since 1987.
Kincaid, a Frostburg State University graduate, has stated that several of her main goals for the county include community relations, the well-being of Fairfax County's children and recognizing underserved communities.
Her term as sheriff will run through December of 2015.
