(WJLA) - A wildfire burning out of control in two Virginia counties has already scorched 450 acres of land.
The so-called South Fork Fire started Monday afternoon and has burned hundreds of acres in both Page and Shenandoah counties, U.S. Forest Service officials say. About 100 firefighters are working to bring the fire under containment.
Forest Service officials say that the center of the fire is about 14 miles north of Luray. Numerous trails and roads in the area are closed while the fire burns.
Authorities say that there's "moderate" potential for the fire to grow due to the terrain and weather conditions.
