Over 1,000 residents without power after severe weather damages homes in Fairfax Co.

A huge cleanup was underway Friday morning after a severe storm hit the Lake Barcroft area of Fairfax County, Virginia leaving over 1,000 residents without power.

Storms knocked down trees and damaged homes in the area Thursday night. Most homes had minimal damage, but one house had its side torn off by a tree.

Roughly 1400 homes were without power in Fairfax County Friday morning as utility crews work to restore it throughout the area.

Neighborhoods in Loudoun County also experiencied power issues.

Dominion Power has a list detailing the status of power outages in the Fairfax County area.
