All-clear given after suspicious vehicle spotted near Lafayette Park in D.C.

An all-clear signal has been given after a suspicious vehicle was spotted near Lafayette Park Thursday morning in Washington, D.C., according to the Secret Service.

All road closures were lifted and the North fence to the White House reopened to pedestrians.

Officers responded to the area near 17th and Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported suspicious vehicle.

Metropolitan Police said closures were set up around Lafayette Park around 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, 15th Street and New York Avenue.

Seventeenth Street was closed to cars from New York Avenue to 8th Street, and officials said the North fence line of the White House was closed to pedestrians.

Car and pedestrian traffic was impacted, according to the U.S. Secret Service.
