(WJLA) - A 20-year-old Warrenton man was killed Wednessday in a violent crash near Route 28 in Fairfax County.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. Wednesday on Old Centreville Road at Route 28, Fairfax County Police say. The driver of a pickup truck, identified as Ronald Matthew Kendrick, ran a red light and hit a car driven by a 16-year-old girl.

The truck flipped on impact and Kendrick, who wasn't wearing his seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at Inova Fairfax Hospital a short time later.

Officials say the teenager suffered minor injuries in the crash.

It's not yet known whether alcohol or speed were factors in the incident.
