George Hillis, Rolling Thunder rider, fatally crashes

An Indiana man riding with Rolling Thunder was struck and killed on his three-wheel Harley Davidson late Friday.

It happened near 23rd and Constitution Avenue NW just after 11 p.m.

Police say a Chrysler Sebring struck George Hillis, 66, on his three-wheel Harley Davidson as he turned onto Constitution Avenue. Hillis was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Hillis, of North Lake Village, Ind., was one of thousands of motorcyclists taking part in Rolling Thunder, an annual Memorial Day weekend event that honors veterans.

The crash is being investigated.
