Two of the teenagers who were arrested in connection with a June 15 pellet gun shooting at a Chantilly middle school have been charged, Fairfax County Police say.
Police say that both suspects, who are both 16, were charged Friday with multiple counts of malicious wounding and shooting into an occupied building. One of the teens was charged with two counts of malicious wounding; the other received one count.
The shooting happened near Rocky Run Middle School in Chantilly on the morning of June 15. Two students, a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, suffered superficial injuries as they stood outside the school with about 100 other students.
Police believe those suspected to be behind the shootings were in in the woods that border the school when they shot into the group. Originally, four suspects were taken into custody in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
The students who were injured were attending an end-of school celebration at Rocky Run.
