Rock Creek Park homicide: Angel Dilmar Monge, Jose Santos Cantarero wanted

Two men are wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Rock Creek Park.

Just before 8 p.m. on Sept. 2, police found a body on the bank of Rock Creek in Grove #6 near Beach Drive and Joyce Road NW. The victim, Matias Molina, 49, had suffered from several stab wounds.

The first suspect, Angel Dilmar Monge, also known as Alex Avalos, is described as a 40-year-old Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes. Police say he has a tattoo of a black scorpion on his left forearm. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

The second suspect, Jose Santos Cantarero, is described as a 36-year-old Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes. Cantarero is also considered armed and dangerous.

A reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Monge and Cantarero. Anyone with information should call 202-727-9099.
