(WJLA) - Charles County commissioner Reuben Collins has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Collins was stopped Thursday night by a Charles County Sheriff's officer near the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and Billingsley Road. The commissioner was administered multiple field sobriety tests, all of which he failed. Collins was then arrested and transported to the Charles County Detention Center in La Plata, Md., where he took a breathalyzer test and blew a blood alcohol level above the legal driving limit of .08.
Police said Collins has since been released to a relative.
