Rashid Caviness-Bey gets 27 years in teen's murder

      A Washington man found guilty of shooting a teen to death two years ago was sentenced Friday to 27 years in prison.{}

      Prosecutors say Rashid Caviness-Bey, 20, shot and killed Osman Al-Akbar, 19, during an attempted armed robbery on Aug. 17, 2011.{}

      As he was biking from his girlfriend's home in Northwest Washington, Al-Akbar encountered Caviness-Bey and two other teens near the 2600 block of University Place NW. The group tried to rob Al-Akbar and then shot him in the back three times, police say. He was shot a fourth time in the face and died in the street.{}

      Caviness-Bey and the other suspects were found hiding at the bottom of a basement stairwell nearby.
