UPDATE 3:56 p.m.: The Baltimore Sun reports that authorities now say it wasn't a python but a 5-foot rat snake that was found.
TOWSON, Md. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine how a 7-foot-long python ended up along a roadway in Towson over the weekend.
Baltimore County police say they received a call from a resident who said he had seen the snake in the 1300 block of Taylor Avenue on Sunday night.
Police say when officers arrived, the snake had moved into a nearby bush. The snake was removed from the area by animal control officers. Police say they do not know where the snake came from.
