Prince George's County police offering coats for free

(WJLA) - Police in Prince George's County are offering free coats to their neighbors in need.

A room at the police department will be turned into a coat closet Saturday morning. Residents are invited to stop by and pick out a new or gently-used coat for free.

The police department partnered with the One Warm Coat organization last month to begin collecting coats for the winter season. They've received over 400 donations.

The event starts at 9 a.m. at the police department at 7600 Barlowe Road in Palmer Park.
