Prince George's chopper helps rescue elderly woman

(WJLA) - Prince George's Police rescued an elderly woman after she went missing and became trapped in the snow. Their helicopter's thermal imaging system spotted the woman and helped with the dramatic rescue.

The woman's daughter called police Wednesday night to report that her mother had gone missing and that she was concerned because of the freezing temperatures. The elderly woman also suffered from dementia.

Police dispatched their aviation unit and spotted the 80-year-old woman near Evans Trail in Beltsville. She had fallen in the snow and wasn't able to get up. Crews on the ground rescued her and say said she was in good condition.

The chopper's camera caught the life-saving rescue.
