A Powhatan woman and her dog were killed late Saturday night in a three-car crash in Manassas.

Lori Love Shipe, 52, of Warrenton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police say. She was uninjured.

Judith Ann Meyer, 57, of Powhatan died at a hospital from injuries received in the collision. Her family dog died while being taken to an animal hospital.

The driver of the 2008 Ford Focus that Meyer was in was identified only as a 58-year-old man from Powhatan. He was flown to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.

According to Prince William County Police, Shipe was driving a 1999 Lexus RX300 northbound on Dumfries Road at Brentsville Road when she ran a red light and struck a 2008 Ford Focus. The driver of the Focus had a green light and was making a left turn from the Prince William Pkwy East to Dumfries Rd.

A third vehicle, a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, was stopped at a red light and waiting to make a left turn from the Prince William Pkwy South to the Prince William Pkwy West when it was hit by the Focus after the initial collision.

Police say Shipe was alone in her vehicle.

The driver of the Jetta, a 33-year-old woman of Manassas Park, was also alone. She was also uninjured.

Speed was not a factor, police say.

The time was listed as 10:27 p.m. when police were called and responded to the scene.
