ARLINGTON, Va. (WJLA) - The doors are back open at the Potomac Yard Harris Teeter. It was closed more than a year ago because of a flood and a bad sewage backup.
The well known chain Harris Teeter is suing Arlington County for the sewage backup that forced the closure. According to court documents, the store claims Arlington's failure to monitor and maintain its nearby water treatment plant caused the sewer backup. The suit also claims the county ignored warning signs.The North Carolina based chain is seeking more than $1 million in damages.
The Potomac Yard store underwent a complete renovation with a new floor plan and equipment.
