SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - The former campus queen at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has reached a plea deal with prosecutors after being charged with marijuana possession and disorderly conduct.
Attorney William Hall of Salisbury says Porsha Harvey pleaded guilty on Thursday to disorderly conduct and received probation before judgment. Hall tells The Daily Times of Salisbury that Harvey will serve 6 months of unsupervised probation.
The 21-year-old Harvey resigned as Miss UMES following the charges and was replaced by another student. She was jailed during the campus homecoming festivities last month for alleged disruptive behavior toward a campus police officer.
Hall says his client can apply to have the charge expunged from her record. He says she's looking forward to graduation in May.
