Police searching for group of armed men behind 3 robberies in Virginia
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (ABC7) —
Prince William County Police are searching for several suspects they say went on a robbery spree, threatening their victims with a gun and baseball bats.
The robbery spree went from late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning in Montclair and Woodbridge.
The first robbery was of a 73-year-old man on Edgehill Drive in Montclair. The man tells ABC7 News two men came up to him, one with what appeared to be an assault rifle and the other with a baseball bat, which he says concerned him even more than the gun.
The man was not hurt in the robbery, which he says happened around 11 p.m.
From there police believe the men - now with a third man who had another baseball bat - went to the 13000 block of Quate Lane in Woodbridge, where they robbed a 41-year-old man around 11:42 p.m.
About an hour later at 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, the three men allegedly robbed a 60-year-old man not too far from the second robbery location, this time at the intersection of Pilgrims Inn Drive and Havering Way in Woodbridge.
Police say none of the victims were injured.
Police searched with a K-9 and helicopter for the suspects early Wednesday morning but were not able to catch them.
Police say they don’t have a good description of the men, not even of their race or age, because they were wearing masks and dark clothing.
