Police have released a Metrobus dash cam video showing a man hit by a truck Wednesday in Laurel.
The driver fled, leaving the pedestrian fighting for his life. But police hope the video will lead them to the hit-and-run driver.
At 2:13 p.m. Wednesday, a man was walking on the sidewalk of Route 198 near Route 1, said Laurel Police spokesman Jim Collins.
A white pickup truck traveling east left the roadway and hit the man. The man was thrown over the guardrail and landed in the parking lot of a shopping center.
The man was taken in very critical condition to Baltimore Shock Trauma.
The truck was last seen fleeing east on Route 198 and probably has damage to the right front area.
Police say the victim was hit so hard, he flew over the guardrail and fell down a 30-foot embankment in a shopping center.
The victim is still listed in critical condition Thursday night. But authorities are having trouble identifying him.
Police believe the striking vehicle is a Ford F-250 pickup truck from 2005 to 2007-- with possible damage to the right front bumper and the windshield.
