Police: Man has serious injuries after single-vehicle crash in Howard Co.

Howard County Police are investigating a single-car crash in Mt. Airy that left a man with serious injuries.

Police say at around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, a 2012 Honda Civic was driving east on Frederick Road when it left the roadway, hit a fence, and flipped over.

The driver, a 26-year-old Gaithersburg man, was flown to Shock Trauma with serious injuries.

Police are not sure why the car left the roadway.

Frederick Road was closed for about an hour and a half.
