Police say they have located the parents of an unidentified toddler girl who was found Tuesday.

D.C. police appeared to locate the parents around 4 p.m., when an update about the child was issued.

The girl, described between the ages of 2 and 3, was found at approximately 9:40 a.m. in the 5300 block of Chillum Place, NE, according to authorities.

Police say the child wandered off after the mother fell asleep. The mother believed the girl was in the care of her father.

According to police, no one is facing any charges at this time, though that could change.

Police had scheduled a press conference for 4:30 p.m. about the girl but canceled it once the parents were located.

Police described the child as a black female standing between 2-3 feet tall and weighing 30-35 pounds, with black hair in a ponytail, medium brown complexion and brown eyes. She was wearing a leopard print coat, pink sweatpants, and pink and gray shoes when she was found.

Police asked that anyone with information on the girl’s whereabouts call the Youth and Family Services Division at 202-576-6768, Command Information Center at 202-727-9099, investigator Jameson Lehn at 202-360-5002 or text 50411.
