POTOMAC, Md. (WJLA) -- Police on Thursday identified the rider of a motorcycle who was struck and killed at a Potomac intersection a day earlier.

Navdeep Singh Kang, 25, of Sewickley, Pa., died at a hospital a short time after her motorcycle was hit by an SUV about 4 p.m. Wednesday on River Road at Rivers Edge Drive.

Police said the SUV driver, Ritula Bhutani Mehndiratta, 46, of Potomac, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While the crash remained under investigation, officers believe the SUV struck the motorcycle while making a left turn at the intersection.
