Police in Montgomery County say they have found the car of the missing pregnant teacher they are searching for.

Laura Elizabeth Wallen, 31, who lives in Olney, is a social studies and law teacher at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, where she received a “Teacher of the Year” award in 2016.

Police say her family last received a text message from her phone on Sunday.

Police say they found Wallen's black 2011 Ford Escape with a Maryland license plate reading M52247310600 in the 10600 block of Gramercy Place in Columbia Thursday night.

After she had spent time preparing for the first day of school, Wallen didn’t show up for the first two days of classes this week.

Police say Wallen is 5'5" and weighs about 200 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is about four months pregnant.

Montgomery County Police say they and Wallen’s family are concerned for her "emotional and physical welfare," and police are asking anyone with information on where she might be to call 301-279-8000.

A neighbor at Wallen’s Olney condominium complex says he saw her arrive home with her boyfriend Saturday night. He says the boyfriend left a few minutes later, and then Wallen left about ten minutes later at a time he estimated was around 10 p.m.
