Officials: 4 people die in head-on crash in Maryland involving car driving at high speed
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) - Four people were killed in a head-on collision after a deputy saw a vehicle going about 100 mph in Carroll County.
Cpl. Jon Light of the sheriff's office says the deputy saw the speeding Infiniti Tuesday, passing other vehicles on Maryland 31 and heading toward Westminster.
A preliminary investigation showed the Infiniti passed another vehicle, clipped a second, then lost control and struck a Mercury Cougar. The driver of the speeding Infiniti and three people in the Mercury were killed.
