1 dead in triple shooting inside residence in Northeast D.C.

A teenager was killed and two men were wounded in a triple shooting Friday afternoon inside a residence in Northeast D.C., police said.

The shooting happened at approximately 2:06 p.m. in the basement of the residence in the 400 block of Riggs Road, near LaSalle-Backus Education Campus. The suspect entered the home from the basement before opening fire.

D.C. police said two victims in the shooting were conscious and breathing, while a third victim was unresponsive when they arrived on scene. The victims, found in the basement, were transported to a hospital, where one victim was pronounced dead after suffering multiple gunshot wounds; the other two victims suffered a gunshot wound to their left legs that are not considered life threatening.

Police have identified the decedent as 17-year-old Davon Fisher, of Northeast D.C.

The 400 block of Riggs Road was closed as police investigated the shooting and a detour set up.

Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Peter Newsham were on scene following the shooting.
