Prince George's County police say they think the DC man who was found with gunshot wounds Thursday night on I-295 and later died was actually pushed out of a car after the shooting took place.

The man is now identified as Armani Coles, 27, who lived on 2nd St. in NW Washington, DC.

Investigators said Coles was shot in the upper body and found alongside the southbound lanes of I-295 near State Road 50 around 6:20 p.m. Officials say they are unsure where the shooting happened.

After being found, Coles was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A neighbor told ABC7 that Coles was a father to a young son. The family said it was too soon to do an interview.

“His father was over here this morning and they were talking to him in the store and he was real upset,” said Timothy Edmonds, a neighbor. “He was crying and everything and was asking everybody did they hear anything or see anything,” he said.

“I feel sorry for the family and everything. It’s real sad, it’s very sad,” said Edmonds.

“Anyone who knows any information, give us a call because it’s important that we bring this case to a close,” said Cpl. Lamar Robinson of the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Prince George’s County Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for an arrest and indictment in the case.
