(WJLA) - A woman rescued from a Laurel townhouse fire early Thursday has died.

The two-alarm fire broke out in the 9500 block of Canterbury Riding at about 5:15 a.m. The woman, identified as Kimberly Ann Murphy-Smith, 50, was found during a search of the home.

She was transported to an area hospital in serious condition and died a day later.
