Pepco: Union workers vote to ratify new contract

Union workers at Pepco have voted to ratify a four-year contract with the utility company, a Pepco official said.

Pepco spokeswoman Myra Optel{ }confirmed that{ }the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1900 had voted Friday morning, but had no further details on the agreement.{ }

The Washington Post reported that the union overwhelmingly turned down a previous offer on September 26.

The workers were threatening a strike if the two sides couldn’t agree to a deal.
