D.C.'s most expensive home is up for sale and it comes with a $26 million price tag. The Patterson Mansion boasts 36,000 square feet of living space, 16 bedrooms and crystal chandeliers at every turn.
The Dupont Circle property has been home to The Washington Club for more than 60 years. The sale is being managed by Sotheby's Realty and according to its website the home is 112 years old and is the last remaining example of grand mansions in the District.
The mansion was originally owned by the editor of the Chicago Tribune, Robert Patterson. Sotheby's believes it would make a good embassy, social club or personal residence.
Other perks: an auditorium, white marble and antique limestone, and a banquet hall.
