Man killed in Braddock Road crash identified

Police have identified a man killed in a vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Fairfax that left five others injured.

Authorities say 65-year-old Albert Spriggs, of Sterling, was driving a truck westbound on Braddock Road when it struck several vehicles traveling eastbound near Ox Road shortly before 2:30 a.m. Investigators say it’s unclear why the truck crossed the median and struck two vehicles before{ }overturning. Three other vehicles were also{ }involved in the crash.

Spriggs was pronounced dead at this scene. Five people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
