Spotsylvania County residents will have the chance to speak out for or against a proposed stock-car and drag-racing facility Tuesday night.
A joint public hearing is scheduled to discuss the Old Dominion Speedway, a proposed racing track and stadium that is currently near Manassas. The current owner of the track wants to move it Thornburg north of Mudd Tavern Road near I-95.
The track would have a NASCAR-style oval race track and adjacent 3,500-seat stadium, according to Fredericksburg.com.
Residents in the area have objected to the proposal, saying they don’t want the noise and traffic congestion associated with a track.
