Nikki Haley campaigns with Ken Cuccinelli

ASHLAND, Va. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is campaigning with fellow Republican Ken Cuccinelli in his bid for governor.

Haley joined Cuccinelli in Ashland Wednesday to tour a sheet metal fabrication business. They discussed health care and government regulation with three brothers who started the business in 1990.

Haley said the budget and debt ceiling standoff in Washington shouldn't damage Republican prospects in the election less than three weeks away, but underscores the need for governors like herself and Cuccinelli.

Haley also challenged Democrat Terry McAuliffe to release his income tax returns to resolve questions about where and how he earned his money

On Saturday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will campaign with McAuliffe, while conservative talk show host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will lead a Cuccinelli rally.
